Winter Growth, Inc. seeks an experienced, strategic, people-focused HR Manager to lead our Human Resources function and support our mission of providing quality services to the individuals and families we serve.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the HR Manager will oversee the organization's human resources programs, ensuring effective recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, workforce development, and compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations. This position plays a key role in supporting organizational leadership, strengthening employee engagement, and fostering a positive, accountable, and supportive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

• HR Leadership: Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, programs, and workforce strategies that support organizational goals.
• Recruitment and Onboarding: Oversee recruitment, candidate screening, hiring documentation, employee orientation, and onboarding.
• Employee Relations: Advise leadership and supervisors on employee performance, workplace concerns, investigations, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution.
• Benefits and Payroll Administration: Oversee benefits administration, open enrollment, renewals, payroll review, employee benefit records, and coordination with Accounting and external vendors.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Monitor compliance with applicable federal, Maryland state, and local employment laws, including ACA requirements, and maintain confidential employee records.
• Training and Certifications: Coordinate mandatory training, professional development, certification tracking, and employee training compliance.
• Workplace Safety: Support occupational health and safety compliance, required documentation, and corrective action initiatives.
• Organizational Development: Promote employee engagement, retention, recognition, professional growth, and alignment with Winter Growth's mission.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong knowledge of human resources management, employment practices, and applicable employment laws and regulations.

• Minimum of 7 years of relevant HR experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, business administration, or a related field.

Winter Growth, Inc. is seeking a compassionate, creative, and organized Activities Coordinator to lead and support a dynamic Life Enrichment program for older adults and individuals with disabilities.

The Activities Coordinator plays an important role in creating meaningful experiences that promote social connection, cognitive engagement, physical activity, creativity, independence, and overall quality of life for our participants.

What You'll Do

As our Activities Coordinator, you will:

• Lead and support Life Enrichment Associates (LEAs) in developing and delivering engaging, therapeutic, and participant-centered activities.

• Develop participant profiles to help staff understand individual interests, abilities, goals, and needs.

• Create diverse programming incorporating exercise, brain fitness, cultural activities, intergenerational experiences, pet therapy, healing arts, food experiences, and social activities.

• Evaluate programs regularly and make adjustments based on participant engagement and changing needs.

• Develop monthly activity calendars and weekly staff schedules.

• Incorporate birthdays, holidays, and special events into programming.

• Monitor activities to ensure they meet applicable program, grant, funding, safety, and regulatory requirements.

• Support safe arrival, departure, meal, and participant-care procedures.

• Ensure staff follow appropriate feeding and dietary guidelines as directed by clinical professionals.

• Coordinate with volunteers to enhance the activity program.

• Review and approve LEA attendance records.

• Capture photographs and other appropriate documentation for families and organizational marketing.

• Participate in weekly Department Head, Interdisciplinary, and Care Plan meetings.

• Assist with quarterly grant reporting and program data collection.

• Stay current with regulations applicable to adult medical day care and the Activity Department.

What We're Looking For

Required:

• High school diploma or GED.

• At least 3 years of experience in activities coordination, therapeutic recreation, or a related field serving older adults, individuals with disabilities, or other special populations.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

• Creativity, flexibility, and a genuine commitment to person-centered programming.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to operate a personal computer and stand for most of an eight-hour shift. The position may also require occasional lifting, rotating, repositioning, and assisting participants with transfers, including individuals who are partially or totally dependent and may require assistance from wheelchairs or other seated positions.
